VPN uses different protocols and ports for security and anonymity

    Introduction.

In our modern digital age, when online privacy and data security have become a priority, the use of virtual private networks (VPNs) has become an integral part of the lives of many Internet users. However, choosing the right VPN protocol and port can have a huge impact on the efficiency and reliability of your VPN connection. In this article, we will look at several different VPN protocols available in the VPNClient program, as well as the possibilities of using other ports to hide your traffic. To perform the necessary settings, go to the "Settings" of the VPNClient program.

In a new window on the "Advanced" tab, we have the opportunity to select the protocol we need:

    1. WireGuard: Fast and secure

WireGuard is a relatively new VPN protocol that is quickly gaining popularity due to its performance and security. It offers state-of-the-art encryption methods and a minimalist architecture, making it a great choice for those who value speed and security. VPNClient supports WireGuard, allowing users to enjoy high performance while maintaining privacy. Recommended for use in most cases. In case of difficulties with these protocols, you can choose the Stealth protocol.

    2. UDP-OpenVPN: Speed and performance

If speed is your priority, then UDP-OpenVPN might be the best choice. UDP (User Datagram Protocol) provides faster data transfer rates, making it ideal for video streaming and online gaming. VPNClient supports UDP-OpenVPN, which allows the user to enjoy a fast and stable connection.

    3. TCP-OpenVPN: Reliability under limited bandwidth.

If you have bandwidth limitations or are facing blockages, TCP-OpenVPN can be your savior. This protocol provides reliable connection establishment by using the TCP protocol, which is more resilient to interruptions. VPNClient allows you to configure a connection via TCP-OpenVPN to bypass blocking and ensure reliable communication.

    4. Stealth protocol: Fighting censorship and blocking

In countries with severe censorship and blocking access to the Internet, Stealth protocols become a necessity. These protocols masquerade VPN traffic as regular HTTPS (TLS/SSL) traffic, making it virtually invisible to filters and detection systems. VPNClient provides Stealth protocols to provide secure and free access to the Internet in the face of censorship.

II. Use of other ports - detection protection.

When it comes to anonymity and security, choosing the right port also matters. Many ISPs and censors scan standard ports to detect VPN traffic. VPNClient allows you to change the port for your connection, which can make your traffic less likely to be detected. Choosing a random port or using unpopular ports can enhance your anonymity and secure your VPN connection. Port selection is possible for TCP-OpenVPN (Auto, 20, 21, 23, 53,80,110,143,3389,8080), UDP-OpenVPN (53, 88, 123) protocols.

RDP connection to server with VPN

For VPS/VDS/DS, when using a VPN, for the RDP connection to work correctly, you first need to turn off the "Kill switch" option. Only available for OpenVPN.

In conclusion, choosing the right VPN protocol and port can greatly improve your online security and anonymity. VPNClient provides a wide range of options to customize your connection according to your needs and circumstances. Don't forget the importance of keeping your VPN client up to date and stay tuned in the tech world to stay secure online.
